12 Oaks
12 Oaks is a golf community in Holly Springs, just southwest of Raleigh. It covers 687 acres, with 20 miles of tree-lined sidewalks and 18 holes of golf. The centerpiece is a 7,132-yard course designed by Nicklaus Design Group, which Golf Digest named one of the Top 10 Best New Private Courses, and the course nearly surrounds the neighborhood. Golf takes a separate membership, but all residents get a clubhouse, 3 pools, tennis, pickleball, a fitness center, walking trails, a restaurant with a pub, playgrounds, and monthly events, plus a community garden and youth programs.
Woodcreek
Featuring home build from John Weiland homes, Pulte, M/I, & Taylor Morrison. This 872 home community is widely regarded as one of the best in Holly Springs with an Olympic size pool, tornado slide, lazy river, 24 hour fitness center, tennis, pickleball, and newly added Greenway trail.
Lochmere
Lochmere is an established master-planned community in Cary. It was built in the mid-80s and early 90s, and it has mature trees, walking and biking trails, 3 community pools, tennis and volleyball courts, and 3 lakes. The name comes from two Scottish words for “lake.” The three lakes are Lochmere Lake, Lake Lomond and Highlands Lake. One lake has a running and walking trail and another has a small boat dock. The neighborhood also has a frisbee golf course and more than 10 miles of trails, with tennis and pickleball courts, six playgrounds and a clubhouse. The semi-private Lochmere Golf Club is a big draw. It is open to people who live in or out of the neighborhood, and it offers both memberships and daily play.
Sunset Ridge
Sunset Ridge is Holly Springs' established golf, tennis and swim community: mature trees, sidewalks, larger homesites and a median single-family sale of $768,500 over the past 12 months. Homes date from 1992 onward, built around Devils Ridge Golf Club, with a handful of newer custom builds. The community is made up of several sections, including Sunset Ridge North, Sunset Ridge South, Sunset Bluffs and Sunset Oaks, each with its own pool. Housing ranges from 2-bedroom condos and townhomes to 5-bedroom homes over 4,000 sq ft, so it draws first-time buyers, move-up families and relocating buyers alike.
Westcott
Wescott is an established, custom-built neighborhood of single-family homes in the heart of Holly Springs, tucked off Sunset Lake Road just south of Holly Springs Road. Built out between roughly 2002 and 2009, it is known for its all-brick and custom homes from respected local builders, sidewalk-lined streets, a saltwater community pool, and a low HOA, all within about a mile of Sunset Lake Commons shopping and dining.
